Castelldefels
Just 18 kilometres outside the city of Barcelona, the town Castelldefels is worth visiting not only due to its medieval buildings from the 16th century but also due to its five kilometres of golden sandy beaches. To get there take the R2 line (train) from Plaça Catalunya or Estació de Sants, and it’s only 22 minutes! By car you can get there via B-10 and C-32 and it’s 33 min. approximately.
Montjuic cemetery
Walk through the beautiful city in peace and tranquility. Opened in 1883, it reveals funerary architectures of the finest art with a magnificent sea views and Mediterranean trees. It is also the place of burial for some of Barcelona’s famous people like Joan Miró, Isaac Albeniz (a great pianist) or Ramon Casas (painter and intellectual of the time) and inhabits the only collection of hearses in Europe.
Badalona
This small city is located on t the coast just outside of Barcelona and is considered as its smaller and more relaxed counterpart with fine sandy beaches. Its history goes back to the 3rd century. Get there by train with the R1 in Estació de Sants, Plaça Catalunya, Arc de Triomf or Clot Aragó and it’s only 10 minutes away. With your car you can get there through c-31 and it’s 29 minutes.
Terrassa
Visit the historic city of fossils and stone tools of hunted animals dating between 800,000 to 1,000,000 years. Terrassa is one of the oldest prehistoric sites in Europe. The actual city however was found in the 9th century and played an important role during the industrial revolution in Spain. Also worth seeing is the Modernist Masia Freixa that was directly inspired by the work of the famous architect Antoni Gaudí.
Sitges
Considered the Saint-Tropez of Spain. A town about 35 km southwest of Barcelona, is renowned worldwide for its Film Festival and known as the “Ibiza in miniature for its seventeen scenic beaches, historical sites and nightspots. Due to its outstanding location, property prices approach those of the most expensive cities in Europe. Don´t worry you can still visit and stay here even if it is on a shoestring.

Penedés wine region
Visit the region of “El penedés” to enjoy some of the finest wine culture in the whole of Europe. Plenty of places offer a service of wine tasting and winery visit .. You can visit famous wineries such as Eudal Massana Noya, Cuscó Berga, Guilera 1927, Ca’n Estella and others. The world -wide known Freixenet is produced here.
Extending from the low-lying plains of the Baix Penedès to the more temperate peaks of the Alt Penedès, the region is suited to growing an unusually wide range of grape varieties.
While the more typical Spanish black grapes are found in the hot and humid coastal plains, as the land rises whites become increasingly common.

Party
Barcelona is a well known city for it’s nightlife. From 5 story bars to the most luxurious hotels and casinos, everyone can find a place that they will enjoy hanging out in.
